Why Visit the Temescal Farmers’ Market?

Temescal Farmers Market is a popular gathering spot and a bustling outdoor market held every Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm at the DMV parking lot on Claremont Avenue and Frog Park. It's the kind of place where people come not just to shop but also to hang out. It's mainly known for its food, which is prepared entirely by local vendors. The surrounding area also has plenty of cafés, bakeries, and restaurants too, so it's easy to spend a few hours enjoying the whole neighborhood.

The market brings together local farmers, small food businesses, and artisans offering fresh produce, handmade goods, flowers, and prepared foods. You'll find many kiosks and stalls filled with fruits, vegetables, cheeses, eggs, baked goods, and specialty items like honey or fresh pasta. Alongside the food stalls, there are often live musicians frequently performing, contributing to the upbeat and easygoing vibe of the place. Plus, the market is very budget-friendly and ideal for grocery shopping as you only spend what you want to buy, no entry fee, and some vendors even provide deals later in the morning. Spring through fall is the best time to visit, when the market is at its busiest and the produce is at its freshest. It is one of Oakland's best and affordable farmers' markets to have a warm and food-filled experience every weekend.
