Located in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA, the USS Lexington (CV-16) is an Essex-class aircraft carrier commissioned in 1943. She earned 11 battle stars and the Presidential Unit Citation for her role in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After decades of service—including training missions and appearances in films—she was decommissioned in 1991 and opened as a museum in 1992.
